Packing Selection Considerations — Different plastic packing geometries provide different combinations of specific surface area, void fraction, hydraulic capacity and pressure drop. Packing type and size should therefore be selected according to the actual tower diameter, gas and liquid loads, fouling tendency, chemical environment and required separation performance.
