Wire diameter is a small dimension with a large role in demister construction.
Once the wire has been knitted into a dense mesh pad, however, measurement becomes less straightforward.
A controlled inspection approach is therefore useful.
Verify Raw Wire Where Possible
The easiest time to verify wire diameter is before or during knitting.
Raw wire can be measured directly using an appropriate micrometer.
This avoids trying to isolate individual strands deep inside the finished mesh.
Finished Mesh Spot Checks
If only the finished pad is available, accessible strands can be selected carefully.
Measurement should avoid:
flattened, kinked, or damaged sections that may not represent the original wire.
Measure Multiple Points
A single reading does not establish production consistency.
