Ceramic packing breakage can be measured by pieces, weight or volume, but the methods are not equivalent. Weight-based measurement is often the most practical for bulk random packing, provided the inspection clearly defines what counts as structurally broken material.

Net weight describes ceramic product mass, gross weight includes packaging, product m³ describes packed-bed quantity, and shipping CBM describes external package space. Define which quantity controls the purchase order before comparing shipment documents.

Use wooden crates for large, custom or high-value process ceramic components when individual pieces need rigid external protection and controlled internal support. For standard bulk random packing, bags are usually more economical and practical.

Lift ceramic jumbo bags using their designed loops, avoid dragging or dropping, use flat landing surfaces and inspect any bag involved in a handling impact. An intact FIBC does not guarantee that the ceramic inside escaped damage.

Store ceramic packing on stable raised surfaces, keep packages identified and protected from impact, oil, mud and unnecessary moisture, and inspect any package damaged during long storage before the packing enters the tower.
