Movable tray valve performance is governed by more than valve count and deck open area. Valve weight controls the pressure required to begin opening, maximum lift controls the available area at high load, and the retention geometry determines whether this movement remains stable throughout the run. Incorrect replacement valves can cause weeping, excessive pressure drop, uneven bubbling, chattering or mechanical failure even when they fit the original deck holes. Treating valve mass and lift as hydraulic design parameters gives operators a more predictable turndown range and a more reliable tray.
