Tower internals are often purchased as a collection of fabricated items: trays, distributors, collectors, support grids, hold-down devices, demisters, piping, beams, clamps, and fasteners.

If documentation is treated as an afterthought, the owner may receive the hardware without enough information to verify materials, install the components correctly, evaluate future damage, or order accurate replacements.

A complete tower internals data book converts a one-time purchase into a traceable lifecycle asset.

It should show what was designed, what was manufactured, what was inspected, what was installed, and what changed during field assembly.

Why a General Vendor File Is Not Enough

A generic manufacturing dossier may contain certificates and drawings but omit information specific to individual tower elevations and segments.

Years later, the maintenance team needs practical answers:

Which segment belongs at this elevation?

What alloy was used for these fasteners?

What was the original plate thickness?

Which welds were repaired?

What was the distributor level tolerance?

Were these temporary braces removed?

What leakage rate was accepted?

Which spare parts fit this tray?

What field modifications were made?

A controlled master copy should be maintained, while field teams receive accessible working copies. Future inspection reports should be added without overwriting the original fabrication baseline.

Repair records are complete.
